Bust of Persian poet Ferdowsi included on Heritage List

A bust of Persian poet Abul-Qasem Ferdowsi has been included on Iran’s National Heritage List.

On the verge of National Ferdowsi Day, which falls on May 14 this year, a bust of the great poet has been enlisted on the Movable National Heritage List.

The bust was made by Iranian sculptor Abolhassan Sadiqi. It is placed for public viewing at the National Library of Iran.

Ferdowsi was born in 940 CE. He is the author of Shahnameh (Book of the Kings), a classic in epic Persian poetry that recounts Iran's mythical and historical past.
